August 2017 Welcome to this year folks!
I hope you have had an awesome summer vacation and are now ready to be back to School. Catching up with everyone and realising that you are almost at the end of your MYP Course.....Hooray!
We have an exciting year ahead, with a number of things to keep you busy. In addition, some things to be mindful of this year..............
*Time Management-Manage your time wisely. Meet deadlines, as this year, you will have a substantial workload. Managing your time is a skill that takes time to develop, however you must be disciplined this year in order to get the best from the year. *Use your School Planner-Write down Homework information, as I shall be checking these on a regular basis and do expect them to be signed by a Parent weekly. *Communication-Liaise regularly with your Subject Teachers, remember everyone is here to help YOU! *Try your best-Read your rubrics, listen to explanations and ASK questions in order to ensure you always understand what is being asked of you.
***Come and have a chat-I will ALWAYS make time for you, I want to get to know you all. Including what you enjoy or participate in, outside VSA.
*CAS-Creativity, Activity & Service is an integral component of the IB Diploma Programme. I expect you all to be seeking out activities and to be engaged in these. I wish to encourage you to open your minds and see the world through a different lens. I will be incorporating CAS into Homeroom activities this year and subsequently I will be expecting you all to be active in order to best prepare for your future.
Enjoy this year, I am sure you will all have the most amazing time. Work hard and you will succeed!
Make sure you have a balance. Organisation will lead to less stress, make sure you have time for yourself. Life is a balance of work, play and rest.
Eat well, Sleep well, Organise yourself well and everything will drop into place.
